Rub shoulders with more than 500 people in this functional and bustling, twin-levelled restaurant which sells alcohol by the “quarter”. Go to Gokul for a taste of Mumbai's no-frills nightlife at its throbbing best. Check out their claim of serving the cheapest drinks and cold drinks. I find their air-conditioned section too cramped (drinks here are served by the “peg system” and include brandy, vodka, rum, tequila, gin, Scotch and Champagne). I enjoy the hum of humanity and watching them walloping down Fish Curry and Chicken Tikkas with gusto and can understand why this family-owned place has been popular for the past 34 years.

I visited the restaurant with my spouse and we really found it economical with a good variety of appetizers. The drinks and beverages were really cheap and the non veg offered was a delight to have!
