Here's the latest: The loft-like space across Blue Frog in Lower Parel is much bigger than Colaba's Busaba. It has soaring ceilings and exposed ducts, steel grey walls and red highlights. Though it could do with brighter lights, it is already drawing regulars. Meanwhile the ten-year-old tiny, wooden-floored, contemporary and pleasant (with a glassed-in terrace) Colaba Busaba continues to hold its own. Affordable and approachable, both Busabas have an exuberance and earnestness that has given it, its well-deserved popularity. Definitely a Chib of the old block. The best of Asian flavours from Burma, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam can be relished at investment banker-turned-restaurateur Nikhil Chib's charming and contemporary Colaba restaurant, Busaba, which is housed in a bungalow (behind the Taj and just next to Indigo). Some of Chib's old favourites are the plump Tibetan momos with home-style chilli sauces, the unbeatable Burmese Khauswe (best in the city!) and the unerringly Steamed Fish with Lemon and Garlic. Succulent Korean Bulgogi, Subtle Steamed Prawns spiked with lemon grass and rock salt and Vietnamese Sizzling Fish with coconut milk and tamarind are a diner's delight. Do order the brand new introductions: Steamed Baramundi with wine, soy and ginger ; Popcorn Shrimp; Aubergine Carpaccio; Button Mushrooms; stir-fried duck Cointreau Souffle. Plenty of options for veggies too, and the oozing Callebaut Chocolate Fondant is simply superlative.rnP.S. Set meals for lunch - Rs. 574 (inclusive of all taxes) -choice of appetizer, salad, main course and dessert along with a Kingfisher beer. Sunday Brunch - Rs. 2,041 (including taxes) - unlimited supply of imported alcohol (Rs. 1,250 without alcohol); features their finest main courses (10-11 mains and 8-9 starters).

There are a few places which I love so much I will keep coming back for more. Busaba which means wild flower is one such place.
They pride themselves of South East Asian food and oh boy do they deliver. This adorable restaurant actually has a bar area downstairs where you could also dine if you wish but I find the seating a tad bit uncomfy and its a bit dark because of the loungey bar like feel and I like some light while i'm eating but having said that its perfect date material so a lot of people enjoy dining down.
Upstairs is more my kind of thing. Lit bright enough just minimal decor and a menu that will keep you entertained more than any sort of decor will.
During my last visit to Busaba a LOT of food was consumed so I'll just focus on the really yummy bits.
Their momos are OUTSTANDING. Most places don't really know how to get it right but htey do. All their momos be it prawn chicken veg all of them are delicious and worht ordering.
The Vietnamese spring rolls are slightly ddifferent from the traditional chinese spring rolls. For one they are served cold and not fried and their wrapping or coating is very thin. Like i said, different but tasty. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but if your up for tying something new then you might enjoy these.
The beef bulgogi which is a Korean dish is lovely as usual but the king of them all is their Khaw Suey. The person who reviewed this place before me has rightly said its the best Khao Suey in the city. For those of you unfamiliar with it, Khao Suey is a Burmese dish which is noodles in a coconut curry like thick broth and a load of condiments are added to it. Its sort of a make your own meal as it is all served seperately to you and you can mix as much or little as you wish.
For dessert they do a brilliant chocolate fondant cake which has hot chocolate oozing out of that warm moist cake served with vanilla and coffee ice cream. However my favourite and probably one of the best desserts according to me is their kiwi pavlova. I know this is reall ynot a traditional Asian dessert but who cares ?? Its gorgeous. For people who haven't lived yet and never eaten Pavlova its a merreingue with whipped cream and fruit. In this case citrus tangy wonderful kiwi fruit. If your a chocolate lover you will most likely barf at teh thought of this but if your palete is a little more refined and opened to good flavour this is worth the try.

I have been to this place twice and the place pretty good. The ambience was cosy. The cocktails were good and i especially liked Fig Mojito. We ordered Veg Momos and Tom Yam Soup and were delicious. Momos was my recommendation. They had a wide range of main course to offer that it became quite difficult to choose from. Will visit this place again very soon.
