Messman family's "Theobroma" has bagged a few awards and accolades making it indeed Theobroma "the food of the Gods"! It started with a small space in Colaba and now has also come to Bandra with an extra floor to itself and larger space. Along with the new branch that opened two years ago in Bandra, they have also added a few new items to the menu. Try the French Macaroons, handmade chocolates (priced per piece), tea platters (with tea/coffee of your choice with bite-sized pastries and sandwiches; under Rs.200), Antipasti Platters (meal in itself) with five different dips, fruits, and different types of bread. Their decadent brownies, sinful chocolates, fudge, various cakes and bakes, and home-style confectionery goods are all worth checking out. Try the dense Chocolate Loaf Cake and your taste buds will thank you. Chocoholics zoom in on the Chocolate Overload Brownie, Opium (Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Whipped Cream, light and intense in turn) and the Frangelico Chocolate Hazelnut Cake. Go for the New York-style Baked Cheesecake with biscuity crust and mascarpone cheese. The tradeoff? Service can be a bit slow. However, the good ingredients, quality, consistency and value will definitely win you over.
