Italian and Continental cuisines are now available at Cool Chef Cafe. However, getting to this brand new Cool Chef Cafe is very un-cool indeed. Weaving your way through the shanties, mangy dogs of Worli village won't prepare you for the charming surprise ahead. The ancestral bungalow of the Thadanis (Chef Kaviraj and Tarun) with its leaf green walls, paintings, matching geometric plates and artefacts has a lovely, relaxed feel to it. Chicken Soup and Mushroom Soup, Lasagne (Roast Chicken and Potato and Farmers Garden), Pastas and Pork, hamburgers (which are tiny), pizzas, Chinese, Indian and more available here. Ask for the crisp, thin-skinned Samosa, plump with chicken spiced with basil. Ask for the Pop "2Burger" of two small, easy-to-eat burgers (choice of soy, mushroom and even Tandoori Chicken). Twenty-three-year-old Kaviraj Thadani fine-tunes for the Indian palate and his Chinese food is robustly spiced with big, bold garlicky overtones. A thin Sweet Corn Soup, okayish sushi, steamed baos and pizzas need fine-tuning. The friendly service can get spacey and slow. An in-house home décor store too. This open-through-the-day, well-priced café, has an irresistible earnestness which links the front of the house with the kitchen. Pick up Papa Prakash Thadani's Chilly" (a spicy Indonesian Chilli Sauce, medium priced at Rs. 310 a bottle, big bottle at Rs. 450). Take note, they serve only snacks from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Fri&Sat: DJ Night (trance, house, techno; 11:00 PM to 1:30 AM), Wednesdays: Ladies’ Night. They give out place for private parties and also do corporate catering for offices. Delivery provided through Delivery Chef (www.deliverychef.in).
