HELENA - Vocals
Australian singer Helena has worked throughout Polynesia, Europe, USA, and Africa. She currently lives in Mumbai. Her album, "Breathing Underwater" was released by Times music India in December 2011. The music has a world fusion feel with Spanish, Arabic and Polynesian influences.
Trained in singing at the National Institute of Dramatic Art, Sydney, Helena worked extensively in music theatre & with various Sydney & Melbourne bands. Her version of the Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven", for the TV series," The Money or theGun", made the UK Top Ten. She recorded & performed the title song , "Que Sera Sera"for the international award winning Film." WAITING" and also sang with SYDA Foundationinternational qwaali ensemble performing at corporate venues in San Francisco CA.
Helena is working on a new album for release in late 2012.
BIRINCHI BORA - Keyboard
Birinchi is from Jorhat, Assam. He began playing keyboard at the age of 6. He later came to Guhawati and formed a band, Faith and performed over the Northeast for 7 years.
He began music arrangement and programming, playing with renowned Assamese artistes such as Zubin Garg, Angaraag Mhanta & Jitul Sonowal. He worked on background scores, jingles and song arrangement in Assamese with many composers in different regional northeast languages.
Birinchi has won the Best Music Director Award at the Jyotirupa Joint Media awards for Excellence in Film, T.V & Music - 2008 for the film, "Amieu Manuh".
AMBAR DAS - Drums/Percussion
From Guwahati, Assam, Ambar has played professional percussion and guitar since 1985. He began professional arranging & programming in 1998, with his first album being "Porisoy Bihin". To date, Ambar has 73 audio albums to his credit and has performed with the following national & international bands :
SOULMATE (Shillong, Meghalaya), FAITH (Mumbai), VOODOO CHILD (Assam), BAND OF BROTHERS (an Indo/German fusion band), CRYSTAL ANN (Assam), MONTHSMIND(Assam), CHOCLATES N CIGGARRETES (Assam), EAST INDIA COMPANY (Delhi), WARKLUNG (A Karbi progressive folk/fusion band) etc...
Has also been an active member of Cantare, one of the foremost choirs in Assam.
JYOTI PRASAD DAS - Lead Guitar
A versatile arranger/guitarist/composer, Jyoti was raised in Guwahati and currently lives &works in Mumbai. He has been playing for over 19 years. Jyoti discovered singer/songwriter Rostee Ahmed and began to diversify his playing andcomposing, taking up keyboard, bass and mandolin. Jyoti can be heard playing leading solosand mandolin on Rostee's second album, "Prohelica".
He graduated with a 3 year diploma in the Spanish Guitar program at Divya Bitan Sangeet Siksha Kendra. Jyoti studied with guitar virtuosos Kalyaan Baruah, Jagdish Boro and singer/composer Jitul Sonowal.
He currently performs with a variety of bands including Parthiv Gohil, Monali Thakur & Sukhbinder Singh. He is also busy in session playing with different music arrangers.
