Have a night of laughter while eating great food, at Soul Fry Casa, as they have events like Stand Up Comedy, every now and then. This charming, twin-levelled old Goan home look-alike eatery in Fort exudes Goan warmth. Wooden flooring, wooden-beamed ceiling, old-world furniture and other interesting details dovetail to create that harmonious atmosphere. The well-planned menu (with plenty of old Portuguese favourites) made to home-style recipes dazzles but also disappoints at times. The Pickled Prawn Loncha with slivers of green chillies and the full-bodily spiced Mutton Sukka Masala came out winners. Like-mama-makes-it Goan Fish Curry Rice and flavoursome Cafreal are on offer too. Overfermented Sol Kadi, overcooked Teesrya and a tiny Butter Garlic Crab are avoidable. Fried Prawns and Bombil and Prawn Moehlo are the crowd favourites here. Try the intriguing Prawn Thali too. Most important, it keeps its price points low and the home-style flavours high. We are charmed!

I usually try and come here on friday's because of the live band performances along with gorging on the goan food. I simply love Mutton Sukka Masala and Goan Fish-Curry-Rice. It's all spiced up and flavoursome. Definitely a must visit for goan food lovers.
