Is it a café? Is it a bookstore? Is it a shop? Is it a deli-cum-bakery? It's all this and more. A recheck, as the book goes to press, finds this sprawling 1,700sq ft deli buzzing with customers. A large open kitchen, in Bombay Baking Co. (affectionately called BBC), sits on the stylish yet warm and welcoming area. A large range of good quality cold cuts, imported cheese, fresh juices, salads, sandwiches, fresh fruits and imported beverages are available here. I enjoy browsing through the book collection and the well-stocked racks of products (from Fajita-making kit, Cipriani Pasta to olive oils and vinegars) as well. At the heart of the shop is the "live" sandwich counter where you can choose fillings and breads and make your own sandwich. Check out the Goat Cheese Salad. Ask for the bagel and lox or if you prefer Indian flavours, then go for the Chicken Tikka Sandwich. Chef Savio helms the BBC and turns out exquisite patisserie and breads too. I recommend the chocolatey Seven Deck and Opera. Leonidas Chocolates, Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream and more stocked here. A cake shop for all seasons and for all reasons as well. P.S. Do remember that it is open 24 hours on Monday.

Bombay Baking Co. is a pleasant surprise, it has nice baked products offered in the same premises that also have a book store with good collection of books and also it has a shop that offers various culinary ingredients. When I come here I like checking their book collection while nibbling on Salad or Sandwich or while sipping on fresh fruit juice. Their open kitchen and live sandwich counter further enhances the beauty of this place and spreads a nice aroma inside Bombay Baking Co. It is a real nice place to visit any time.
