A must drop anchor at seafoodie paradise. As the book goes to press, I pop in to this “lunch home” for a superb seafood dinner. Home to Mangalorean seafood in the Fort area, Mahesh has set up in Juhu, Thane and Andheri too. Swanked up with air-conditioned comfort and fancy touches (very clean loos too) characterize these eateries. The ever-present Chindian fare looms large as does the North Indian. Skip it and zero in on the Mangalorean dishes. We sit on the comfy though boxed-in, first floor of the flagship Fort restaurant and trip out on the unerringly fried surmai, bombil and bangda. Thick, flavoursome Coconut Gassis mopped up by handkerchief-thin Neer Dosas and well-made Appams but what I enjoy them most with is the brown, unpolished rice. Wear the bib provided before you crack the (expensive) crabs, available in Butter, Pepper Garlic or even Schezwan flavours. Clams and Squids are delicious. Not crazy about coconuts? Awesome Rawas Fish Tikka, Fish Balti (choice of fish), Pomfret Tandoori, Chicken and Mutton Sukka too. The mutton dishes are not as good as the seafood ones and veggies are offered only a few North Indian dishes… Paneer Palak and the like. Lousy Caramel Custard, a well-stocked bar, but what superlative fresh seafood here.

my friend treated us at /mahesh lunch home for his birthday and what a treat it was!!!!!! the ambiance is really nice, we had been there for dinner. Mahesh lunch home being famous for its sea food actually is upto the mark. We had fish fingers and pomfret tandoori for starters followed by prawns gassi and neer dosa. It was delicious!!
we had a wonderful evening and we enjoyed our time there.
we received two complimentary desserts since we made our reservations through URBANRESTRO.

fish fans don't need directions to the original home of awesome Mangalorean seafood in the Fort area and most can find their way to the Juhu, Thane and Andheri outlets too. Air-conditioned comfort and fancy touches characterize the brightly lit Juhu branch set up on three levels. Thick, flavoursome Coconut Gassis are good, but Neer Dosas and Kori Roti could be better. Wear the bib provided before you crack the (expensive) crabs, available in Butter, Pepper Garlic or even Schezwan flavours. Clams and Squids are delicious.
