I can't help but feel nostalgic every time I visit this former venue for Wayside Inn (at Kala Ghoda), the place where Dr Ambedkar drafted the Constitution and made history live and breathe. Silk Route, its replacement, offers Indo-Chinese with a smattering of Thai. Regulars enjoy the Ginger Garlic Oyster Chicken, Dragon Chicken and Crispy Spinach Chicken. Deep-fried and spicy starters and slushy gravy dishes with cornflour are rescued by extensive vegetarian options on the menu. The momos and dumplings are average. If you ask for Thai, friendly and helpful waiters will suggest Red or Yellow Thai Curry and Pad Thai Jay, Burnt Garlic and Jumbo Prawns, Steamed Fish (Red Snapper and Pomfret), Steam Boat Soup (for four people) and Pot Rice also make the rounds. Unobtrusive decor makes this an ideal private party venue.
