It remains on my favourites’ list. This plant-filled, sun-dappled, charming, quiet, tucked-away bar and restaurant is located on the first floor of the swish Good Earth furniture and lifestyle accessory store. Set amid many an interesting piece of furniture, its deli counter (stocked with cold cuts and cheeses) and bar, stacked with wines, continues to draw regulars. Thankfully, the wine list is not expensive but expansive and you can have many by the glass. Ever since Riyaaz Amlani of Mocha took it over, the quality of the cooking has become well above average and consistently so. As the book goes to press, I do a recheck and enjoy the Bacon-wrapped Prunes as much as the cheesy Raclette Potatoes. The imported Meat Platter makes for a great starter nibble. However, the Fillet Mignon is just about okay. Unusual pairing of Coffee Jus and Mushroom Leek stuffing in the succulent breast of Spring Chicken surprises pleasantly. Plenty of comfort food, Fish ’n’ Chips, pasta, risottos too. Choose your dessert from the counter, generously portioned Chocolate Ganache, dense-chocolatey Mud Pie and okayish Bailey’s Mousse here. Movenpick ice creams and sorbets too. A charming, open-through-the-day, ideal for leisurely rendezvous. P.S. Health conscious? Opt for the al dente Wheat Aglio Olio Pasta, Wholewheat Sandwich with Chicken and Mushroom and Smoked Salmon Sandwich too.
