A meal in a telephone booth? Head to this open-throughthe- day low-ceilinged, air-conditioned Parel restaurant that office-goers and students from the nearby college frequent. Dial in to the kitchen via antique phone at this kitschy American diner vibe restaurant with its cheery red and white decor, sepia-toned film posters, game boards and red post box at the door (for feedback). The food, comforting and soulful in its own way, all unapologetically inauthentic, is somehow tuned to the Jain and Indian palate. Aloo Parathas with delicious and well-set dahi and passable Burmese Khaukswe are my picks (desserts and coffee disappoint). College students love their burgers stuffed with cheesy fries and even throw parties here. To the enterprising two young 23-year-olds who overshadow the unevenness and clumsiness with their naive charm, inspiration and courage - I salute you!
