Bollywood meets Tollywood (in motif and patrons that frequent too) at this small but seriously good restaurant tucked away in a bylane across Hinduja Hospital. It showcases the soulfulness and goodness of Kerala, Andhra, Chettinad, Hyderabadi, Mangalorean and Coorgi fare (seafood is the speciality here). Culture Curry opens in Andheri. Sudeep Awchat, the 24-year-old son of the colourful, owner-couple, Deepa and Suhas Awchat sets up here. Gone is the thematic cute ambience (which I prefer), and all three restaurants (Culture Curry, Diva Maharashtracha, Goa Portuguesa) are housed together in a contemporary building and have a common composite menu. Every dish that Chef Deepa Awchat serves, with its distinct flavour, especially Kerala Ishtew with fresh Appams, seduces. Live Appam counters too! Robustly spiced Chicken Chettinad, banana flower Artipuvuvada and Vangkai Koora (baby brinjals in groundnut gravy) are as good as ever. Wattalappan dessert delights. Vegetarians, 108 dishes for you, all of which have been chosen carefully and prepared with great care. In the Mahim branch you'll notice traditional ethnic motifs mixing with (whacky!) modern ones. Banana trees, garish film stars adorn table mats and Kathakali masks, stone pillars, wood-carvings and Tanjore paintings complete the experience. Culture Curry has also been featured in the Washington Post and Lonely Planet. Visit and experience the pure goodness of culture meeting curry.

The last weekend I along with a friend just land up in Dakshin Culture Curry and I has really impressed with the traditional taste of the food served here.
Just order Kerala Ishtew with fresh Appams or Chicken Chettinad and you will realize what i mean. Dakshin Culture Curry serves almost all the major cuisine of South India and I will be visiting this place really soon.
