They hang out in DP's... the cool dudes (and even the not-so-cool ones). They pour in from Ruia and Poddar colleges. Welingkar's Institute too. They are busy checking out the reasonably priced pure-veg snacks at this functional place with standard decor. South Indian dishes are popular here, though at the top of the chart are Pao Bhaji, Schezwan Dosa, Chinese Bhel and milkshakes. Pot Rice, Malaysian Flat Noodles, parathas (extensive selection) and Masala Pao are some of their hot-selling dishes. Burgers and desserts are okayish. Idli Manchurian and Schezwan Dosa are a lasting tribute to Indo-Chinese relationship. They have recently started serving okayish Thai food. rnP.S. By the way, DP's stands for Durga Parmeshwari. This is possibly the best joint in Matunga (W) and Dadar (W) area. Located bang opposite Ruia College. I can also say that i was brought up at this place.
It serves the best Pav Bhaji in town and is ranked third in Mumbai Best places for Pav Bhaji Place (remember that - PAV WOW contest by Bombay Times). Even Jackie Shroff like this place a lot :).
It serves, Chinese, South Indian, Fruit Beer, Delhi Chaat and The most amazing cheap on pockets, masala Pav. One can also try a huge variety of Parathas served in here. (Special recommendation- Cheese Palak Paratha).
Few years back, Fruit beer was the coolest drink and an USP for this place. all students who apply for various colleges in this area, use to come at DPs just for fruit beer.
I really like this place. The place is averagely crowded, (more during college admissions), but generally more of Theatre people, upcoming film makers and artist. You can also have some hot Chai, sitting on the Traingle. Waiters are very friendly and services is really excellent. Open till 11 PM. this proves to be a boon to All the college junata.
