You'll have to brave Matunga's manic traffic and climb up one floor to this no-frills, non-airconditioned Udipi eatery. But go you must - you will love it all, including the sparkling clean kitchen that they invite you to inspect (chappals off, please) from where they serve simple, nourishing, pure-vegetarian food with a balanced calorie count and a menu that changes at every meal. The food here is authentic and the quality consistent; hat's off to Satish Ramanayak (son of the founder of the Udipis in Mumbai). Stand in queue, buy your thali coupon (Rs.45 for the limited thali and Rs. 120 for the unlimited) and enjoy the flavoursome Rasam with Moong Bhaji on Tuesdays, Chana Bhaji on Fridays, Potato Song on Sundays (served on banana leaves). As you walk out, you'll silently nod in agreement with the sign posted in the corridor, "Udipi means good food".

The experience to eat here is pretty amazing. Excellent food is served here in very traditional way on banana leaf. A must visit for all people who like South Indian food. A thali would be a good option to try out.
