At the heart of this sleek, cool, elegant new space, is my most favourite symbol of warmth and love… the oven. 'Freshly baked' gets redefined as by the hour, layers of yeasty, crunchy magic are baked in the form of superlative Quiche Lorraine (plump with melting cheese and crunchy bacon), curry Chicken Puff (crisp pastry clasps moist flavorsome chicken), dense and fabulous multicereal breads and more. Chef Vikas Bagul bakes on the hour. Chef Joy Bhattacharya has kept a fine balance in the menu and products here (variety of cheeses, cold meats, oils, wines and home-made pasta on sale). I not only buy Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, San Daniele ham, hazelnut oil, but lunch here too.rnGrab a comfy chair and gorge on generously stuffed sandwiches (tuna recommended). The luscious Chocolate Feuillant remains my favourite pastry though the five-layered Xocolatal is close competition. Chocolates are easily amongst the finest in town. Frothy Cold Coffee and intense Espresso however, the Chicken and Veg Biryani ( 300 with Raita and Gulab Jamun) are dry and avoidable. No soups, not enough variety of sandwiches, the popular Strawberry Mousse Abyss disappoints with its oversweetness. Still a super-cool VFM quick stop for a heart-warming freshly baked snack or meal or takeaway in a fivestar hotel in the heart of town.
