Warm, wooden tones, show kitchen, canopies and comfortable seating… walk up a narrow flight of stairs on the side of Inox at Nariman Point to Dilli's Moti Mahal's contemporary avatar. As you ascend, the charming history of how Kundan Lal Gujral invented Tandoori Chicken in the 1920s at Delhi's Moti Mahal will unfold through large, framed newspaper clips with prime ministers' photos and posters. With lightning speed, on a sizzler platter, out comes the legendary moist, firm and flavoursome Tandoori Chicken - one of the better ones I've had. While Chicken Lahsuni Kebab is over-salted and Paneer Makhni too slushy, Makhni Dal is luscious and makes up for it all. Please stick to the Veg Diwani Handi, Murgh Bemisaal, Chicken Shahi Korma and Tandoori fare (Paneer Tikka Achaari, Tangdi Kebab). The restaurant recommends that you try their Tandoori Fish and Butter Chicken. On weekdays, they have Happy Hours (50% discount on bar bill from 4pm to 8pm); Ask for the Assorted Kebab Platter. After all, it's the Tandoori Trail! P.S. New branch at the Oberoi Mall in Goregaon picks up popularity, while the Malad Branch continues to serve kebabs by the dozens to its happy regulars.

Moti Mahal Delux has nice and calm interiors. The food is good too. I went there few days back with my family. We had Chicken Lahsuni Kebab, Makhni Dal, Chicken Shahi Korma and Tandoori Paneer Tikka Achaari. Food was good, though I didn’t like Makhni Dal. It was very heavy and oily. Moti Mahal Delux has a good service too.
