It all started off with a mango tree… when Mangi Ferra set up in Vile Parle several years ago. It was one of the first to serve wood-fired pizzas this side of town. Ever since then, Mangii’s tribe has been increasing. First Khar and more recently, Powai. Perch yourself at the full-fledged bar and order their exotic caipiroskas (ask the bartender about their “twists” like the Muddy one) or fire up with the Spicy Lady (Basil, Cointreau, vodka, and jalapeno). Currant Affair (black currants, Cranberry Juice and vodka with exotic garnish served in a chilled glass) and Flaming Tower (or Lamborghini) keep the action fresh and exciting. Old ad posters, wooden tones and cushioned furniture give the place a homely feel. More sedate wine cocktails (order the special sangria) and straight options like beer, whisky, vodka are available. Fresh fruit cocktails (Rs. 375-650) remain their speciality. The friendly and courteous staff is always happy to suggest wines (from dense to fruity they have them all - Pinot Noir, Hardy, Yellowtail and Bohemia) that go well with whatever you’ve ordered.
