Seating interspersed with wine racks, glass walls, and open kitchens overlooking Powai Lake complete the decor of this sprawling Italian restaurant of Powai's Renaissance Hotel. The dimly lit Fratelli Fresh serves Italian dishes that communicate blunt home-style goodness (Tomato Bruschetta) and also those arranged intricately (Branzino al Catoccio, oven-baked to perfection; firm and flavoursome). Vegetarians, for you, Chef Tony (from Italy) offers al dente Spaghetti à la Vegetariana, Insalata Grigliati and Ravioli Porcini. Ossobuco (imported from Holland) and Chilean Sea Bass delight non-vegetarians. Pizza Piccante, with its thin crust and fiery notes of Salami from Napoli, gets my top vote (even though I'm not a pizza fan!) Desserts are good, but not exceptional. Plenty of memorable eating options here. P.S. A hundred authentic Italian wines selected by wine consultant Craig Wedge - Grappas, Limoncellos, Espressos, etc. Set Menus during the week range from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 4,000 and on Sundays, they serve a brunch for Rs. 1,500 without and Rs. 1,800 with alcohol and Rs. 2,500 for a Champagne Brunch.
