Parking is impossible at this pocket-sized, six-table cafe tucked away behind Colaba Causeway's teeming shops and stalls. Yet, it's always packed to the seams with cheery crowds (can get loud) who come for wholesome VFM European/Global and Italian fare like sandwiches, pastas, main courses, burgers and first-rate desserts. New and popular recent menu entrants include Chicken Cordon Bleu, Shop 'n' Chop (two breasts of chicken fillet, crumb-fried and served with spicy tomato sauce), Crackerjack Prawns (prawns with cheesy coating deep-fried and served with homemade tartar), Lobster Thermidore and Lamb Chops at the Mountain. Generous portions sizes - their soups (Mushroom and Bacon or Cream of Mushroom) are meals in themselves. My picks? Lasagne, Fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Valdostana, Chicken à la King and Prawn Shashlik. Service can be slow, but that just gives you time to soak in the charm of this popular neighbourhood eatery.
