This no-frills food joint in Thane isn't worth a visit for those looking for an elegant dining ambience. Zero-in on the well-spiced Sukka Mutton with thin Bhakris (house speciality) if you do go, and ignore everything else including their special curry and Fried Fish. Try out various thali options (Chicken: Rs 100, Mutton: Rs 120; Fish Pomfret Full: Rs 175, Half: Rs 120). Each serves six items. Okayish Veg Thali with eight items. Ask for Bhakris instead of chapatis (worth the extra cost). P.S. Malwan has increased its prices on some dishes by a small margin.

We went Malwan, located in Thane, last week. The ambiance was just not to be there. We had Sukka Mutton with thin Bhakris and Fried Fish. Thin Bhakris were good but Fried Fish was not at all worth having. The food was just average and the ambiance was below average. For me Malwan is a big no.
