Wonder what the Colonel would say about KFC moving to Mumbai with a dedicated vegetarian kitchen, a vegetarian meal on the menu (rice, curry, veggie strips, fries and Pepsi) and many vegetarian options like the Zinger, Strips and Chana Snacker. Of course, he’d smile knowing that the Original Recipe Chicken (8-piece and 12-piece buckets) made with 11 secret spices has people queuing up. Hot Wings, Chicken Zingers, Wraps, Toasted Twisters and Boneless Strips have many takers too. Although I’m not a KFC fan, I prefer the burgers (Zingers) over the overdone Hot ’n’ Crisp Chicken and, of course, the Original Recipe wins hands down. Their Crushers, Cappuccino, Mochachino and Frappe are as good. Not every branch is as swanky as the flagship in Bandra with three air-conditioned floors, but the menu remains the same at all locations. Popcorn Chicken (small and tender juicy boneless pieces of chicken with extreme sprinkle) is worth trying. Fans swear by it and say it’s finger-lickin’ good!
