Here’s one for the mutton fans — vegetarians, please skip down to the next entry please. Walk into this no-frills, airconditioned eatery where at any given point, anywhere from two to four dozen people can be seen ordering meals. From the food to the menu (also listed in Marathi) and the decor, everything about this place rings Maharashtrian. We have tried the keema here many times. Even though it set our tongues on fire and had excess oil floating around, it certainly didn’t put us off! Mutton and chicken are well-represented on the colourful menu (choose from Masala, Fry, Rassa or Dhangari meal options). Egg is available in Curry and Masala and they even have a Chicken and Mutton Kids Meal option. The Gavran Komde Meal is the Sunday special. One token vegetarian option sits at the end of the menu. The chefs recommend Keema with Bakri, Sol Kadi and Mutton Masala. If you need to use the washroom, note that it’s located outside the restaurant. Also be aware that delivery outside of Vile Parle may be spotty: when we called for delivery to Bandra, first they quoted a Rs50 charge, then a Rs100 charge, but the food never did arrive. Best to visit and relish the food there in person.
