Make your way to this awesome fairy-tale Asian castle with its lofty and majestic ceiling looming high and its mysteriously lit, rough, slate stone-clad walls and floor. Admire the three towering statues emerging from the dappled light and gently dripping water into a moat afloat with lotus. Mumbai’s gutsy Japanese castle (Shiro) continues to rock. Plenty of drinks... try the signature Apple Martini, Cinnamon Martini, vodka-based Oriental Spice and rum-based Secret Garden. The bar is well-stocked with premium liquor (and premium pricing!) and its ambience has caught the imagination of Mumbai’s beautiful people. DJ Roane, DJ Henry and DJ Sam enthrall the crowd. The Ministry of Sound plays here too (cover charges Rs. 500 per person and Rs. 1,000 for a couple) on the first and last Saturday of the month. Three party rooms and a bar area complete this 4,000sq ft castle. During the week over, this castle is packed with ”over-thirties”, the Retro Friday night attracts 30-plus years while Saturdays attract the younger lot. rnP.S. Shiro has launched a new lunch menu. Do check-out the Sunday Brunch (Rs. 1,800) where they have starters, soup, salad, dessert and drinks (wine, domestic beer and vodka-based cocktails).

Shiro's interior is part of a fairy tale and not of real life. The elaborated Japanese castle like set up is very much welcoming and the drinks menu makes sure that you keep visiting. The bar is full of premium liquor at definitely premium cost. However, all in all i like the ambience and feel of Shiro.

Last Sunday, i attended the Sunday brunch at Shiro. The elaborated arrangement of food and beverages is simply impressive, from soup, starters, salads and a variety of drinks Sunday is truly made special by Shiro. Next time i ma planning to visit this oriental cuisine restaurant on a weekday.
