Perfection is the word that comes to your mind when you visit this restaurant on DP Road in Pune - fabulous food, lovely decor, sensitive service and great style… not to mention, matching prices. The menu is, of course, Bengali (Daab Chingri, Beckti Machher Paturi, Rui, Crab, Kosha Mangsho). Anjan Chatterjee's Beckti Machher Paturi - Calcutta Beckti smothered with a mixture of home-made curd and the rind of Gondhoraj Lemon, steamed and served on a banana leaf - is probably the most exquisite Indian steamed-fish recipe. The fish Hilsa, de-boned and smoked, is superior to even the best Smoked Salmon. Smothered in a paste of mustard seed and green chilli and then steamed, it is sheer ecstasy. The restaurant also serves a little bit of Anglo-Indian (Railway Mutton Curry, Prawn Cocktail) and some Kolkata Muslim favourites like Mutton Rezala. Besides, there are many creative and traditional vegetarian options like the divine Mochar (banana flower), Shami Kebab, Bhindi with Aam Kasundi and the mouth-watering Tomato Chutney. For desserts there are traditionals like Mishti Doi, Rasogulla and Nolen Gurer Ice Cream. If you are interested in a Buffet Lunch (Rs.625 plus taxes), go to Oh! Calcutta on weekends.

Oh! Kolkata has been doing remarkably well with the Bengali cuisine culture. The place has an ambience that excites and motivates me to try out newest of dishes. Crab, Beckti Machher Paturi and other seafood dishes are authentic to the core and the ingredients that they use to prepare the dishes surely adds to the flavors. Specialized in non veg dishes Oh! Kolkata is a culinary delight that can never be forgotten. Love this place and for non veg lovers nothing can be as good as this one.

If one is on the lookout for very good quality non veg food with a slightly different taste than the routine ones - Oh Calcutta is the place. It is comparatively cozy place , thus avoiding large crowd / gathering. Being surrounded by good restaurants around, it does mark its own presence. The mutton cooked in pot is mouthwatering whilst there is good variety in fish. Vegetarians might be in for a hard experience for a lack of variety in veg platter. The prices are on the higher side though. Overall, decent decor, good ambiance and superb food makes it a good experience to dine out.
Favorite Dishes / Drinks: Mutton cooked in pot, dum biryani
