La Boulangerie by Alex De Ducla is a haven for bakery and confectionery products. Alex's passion bread put him on a mission to spread the blessings of bread around the City with a series of shops and outlets that create an instant longing for those long crusty French breads called baguettes that the French traditionally chew as they walk along their streets. Harrison's Hotel just off Nungambakkam, has a cafe with the products from La Boulangerie in their foyer. Their tarts, pastries, biscuits and breads are placed temptingly in small trays on top of the display counter, so you can taste what you want to buy. They also have the classic croissants, filled and unfilled, a variety of tarts with real Lemon Curd, Rich Chocolate Filled Slices, a delicious little architectural marvel called an Opera cake (some of these have to be ordered) cookies and a fruit tart that was as colourful as a patchwork umbrella from Orissa with Kiwi fruit and strawberries. They have a coffee-making machine that gives you the range of Espressos, Lattes and so forth that you can choose to have with the breads, the quiches, sandwiches and vol-au-vent. They survive the microwave very nicely. That's because part of the Boulangerie's charm is that they used natural products without any additives or preservatives. They have several branches across the city to locate the one nearest to you visit: http://laboulangerie.in.rnPS: The hotline number for La Boulangerie is 9600078562

Being in a new city is not easy, specially in terms of food. But in Chennai i have found the best shop for bakery and confectionery products, La Boulangerie. No matter what you order, they serve it fresh and awesome. Breads, pastries, tarts, biscuits all of them are better than the other one. Dont try going anywhere else when you have La Boulangerie.
