Satyajit Ray and Beyond: Exhibition

Delhi Art Gallery presents its first-ever photography exhibition, featuring images from the Nemai Ghosh Archive housed at the gallery. Nemai Ghosh is known for his lifelong association with the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray, photographing the sets and locations of his films over a rich, 25 year period. But besides Ray, he also recorded a wide variety of subjects and people, foremost among which has been his work on cinema. On the occasion of a 100 years of Indian cinema, the exhibition, curated by Pramod Kumar KG, celebrates Ghosh’s work on cinema, featuring actors, scenes, sets and Satyajit Ray at work, drawn from an archive consisting of over one lakh images that are an invaluable part of India’s photographic and cinematic history.
