The National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) is hosting a grand Street Food Festival at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in December that will offer a delicious chance for the city's food lovers to try local delicacies from across the country.
A press conference was addressed by NASVI national coordinator Arbind Singh and a group of leading street food vendors of Punjab and Delhi at the Press Club of India in Delhi on 10 December, 2013, announcing the event.
The theme slogan of this festival is “Swad hai, Romanch hai, Street Foods ki Baat hi kuchh aur hai”.
The aim of this three day event is to bring together some of the best known street food vendors from across India. These vendors will showcase their signature dishes at the festival.
Over the years, traditional street food of India has secured a firm position in the food industry. The festival gives a chance to vendors to display their foods and also to gain prominence among food enthusiasts.
NASVI is a network as well as advocacy platform of around 740 street vendor organizations, trade unions and also community based groups from all across the country. In 2011 and 2012, this organization hosted street food festivals in the Capital that turned out to be crowd-pullers.
