The interiors at Smoke House Deli set the tone for what is to come when you dine here. Sketches across the cream walls creating a faux ambience of fireplaces, grandfather clocks, kitchen containers etc. let you believe that you are in a Deli in New York City or Paris, definitely not in the middle of Delhi. The mood is classy yet informal. The menu has a selection of sandwiches, burgers and pastas besides an all day breakfast and an extensive eggs section. The day’s specials are also displayed on a blackboard. They have a value for money deal where you can get a bowl of soup and half a sandwich. The Wasabi and Saffron Pappardelle is interesting with Japanese flavors intermingling with Italian tastes and you can have yours with Tiger Prawns or Chicken. The risotto is not the best dish here. Jewish deli specials like Turkey Pastrami Bagels are available too

We all have some stories to tell after a particularly spirited evening, but the quaint setting of this all-day café tells the story for you. An engaging narrative that runs on the walls and throughout different elements including an old school dial phone and a menu mimicking the hand drawn look bring to life a character that would enjoy partaking in all the concoctions the bar specialises in. Riyaaz Amlani's successful gourmet deli chain serves trademark smoked cocktails from the Smoke House family. When the weather is right, grab a table outdoors and soak in all the action as you move through the Smoked Melon Martini, Watermelon Caipiroska and pitchers of Sangria Rosso. If you prefer more complex flavours, the Californian Plum, Star Anise, Lily + Vodka tastes as good as it looks. And just in case you want something more robust, there's a well-stocked full service bar and a competent wine list. Order some Paprika Puffs + Wasabi Salsa and The Deli Meat Plate, as the bluesy jazz mix works its magic to help you unwind and makes you sink lower into your chair.

What do one say about a Saturday afternoon visit to a reputed place? That there would be crowds; that the management and thus service would be prepared to face the onslaught? Right? Wrong answer. They were not! Okay, so we did not reserve; okay that we werent waiting and hence had to sit outside. But we were hungry and sitting out would not have bothered us.But here goes all the same. The outside has 9 home-made looking coolers that were really doing zilch. The draft of air from the surrounds brought in some fresh air from time to time. Flies and a fly swatter- man - very inefficient. Just couldnt get any! And the side serving board could do with a fresh coat of painting or whatever.Service - hey guys, theyre doing you a favour! Bread basket served up with a little larger than toothpick width breadsticks. Served up with a miniscule amount of butter in the butter dish - the server had to be called to fill it up a wee bit more - what was he thinking? Why bother serving this? Insulting? Yes!!The iced served came up in trumps though. The food - steaks with asparagus served cold. The cost - yeah we paid whatever they asked. Was it worth it? Certainly not.The owners should introspect quickly and some heads must roll.Of course, in this world of media hype and demand/supply - maybe there will be zero response to all this.

The search for the perfect steak takes me across town to the Vasant Kunj outlet of the famous smoke house deli. Located on the ground floor of the Promenade mall, this place tries to combine the characters of a American steakhouse and a desi upscale restaurant.Although with a name like smoke house, one would expect a hint of casual shabbiness of the place with a bartender with a towel on his shoulder, but this place reeks of a five star ambiance. The order is quickly served as it is after midnight when we plop into our seats. One TENDERLOIN STEAK for me, a COTTAGE CHEESE BURGER for the vegan teetotaler and a TOMATO AND BRIE SANDWICH for the iron liver. The water comes from a carafe with a mint and lime inside to give the zinging refreshing taste. A bread basket is also simultaneously out on the table. Served rustically in a sack, it is like a small wonder box. The more you put your hand in, the more types of breads come out. Soup sticks, rolls, slices of brown bread. You name it, its there. One such sack is ravaged by us hungry wolves even before the order makes its way to the table. The tenderloin steak is a work of art. One look at the dish will give you an visual foodgasm. Soft tenderloin meat served up in a spicy meaty gravy and American mustard along with thick cut potato wedges rekindles my love affair after a few disappointments. The cottage cheese is a marvel. Soft juicy party filled with flavours that do a tango on your tongue served up with fresh veggies and a in house coleslaw. Topped with an amazingly crispy and tasty onion ring, this burger leaves a lot of the competition quaking behind. The sandwich is a big disappointment though, toasted brown bread with tomato and cheese with any flavours making an effect on the palate. But that was a bad order to start with and iron liver was already repenting. Damages were in the range of 1600 bucks. Although a bit on the costlier side, the food doesnt let you worry about the dent in your pocket. This place has one of the best streaks in town and their grill throws some of the best food in town. With a bit more rustic setting, this place would become ethereal

This is situated at one the biggest Restaurant Hub in Hauz Khas, towards Lake side, This restaurant got lake and Garden view.Like other branches this outlet is also maintained properly, very decent decor and menu also designed accordingly with lots of delicacies.Menu is very elaborate with popular dishes and what ever we tried was really enjoying. We got varieties Burger, Pizza, Pasta and other dishes. Smoked Chicken Burger that I had was really good. Other Dishes my friends and they were also happy.Welcoming Complementary Pita Bag was also very Special.
