Perched high on a rocky incline overlooking the ramparts of the Aguada fort is Morisco. Grills, fries, seafood and BBQ are with a spectacular view of the sea. Seafood and steaks grilled to perfection as one spends a leisurely afternoon nursing a chilled spirit lulled by the creamy froth of the waves lapping on the shore. Open for lunch during season you can start with Sesame Crab Cakes - the tender meat of the crab flavoured with herbs, rolled into shape with mashed potato, coated with sesame seeds and fried...a crunch with every munch. Or perhaps the flavour of Goa with the Vegetable Fottas - deep rawa fried rolls with goan masala…ooslurp. Follow it with the Fish Steaks - king fish or grilled salmon. As the sun slowly dips below the horizon, it is time to hear the chant of the sea. Bond with chef Rego's Portuguese connection - the grilled Camarao Tigre Picante Grillacho (tiger prawns marinated in lemon juice, chili flakes ginger and garlic) - simple marination to get the flavours intact. Or the Arabian Snapper en Papillote (herb wine braised fish) in its covering which the waiter uncovers at the table. And when the flavors combine with the cherry tomato glaze and the spiced fussily nutty vegetables…of course they will be fussy, they are competing with the chef's unique seasonings. But remember that the sweetness of that 'lull' is still to be experienced. Try the Coconut and Mango Twist - it's attractively displayed the colour combo of the white coconut mousse, on an almond torte with the mango sorbet for cleansing the palate with every slurp. The creamy home made ice creams with the saffron and cardamom flavour are indescribable. The restaurant and its menu and the chant of the sea.
