Whisper into the night, 'this is the place for me.' For those who are in South Goa and crave for a taste of the Orient, this is the place at the Holiday Inn. The elaborate wall paintings, Chinese lanterns, wooden roof and bamboo plants all create an authentic oriental ambience. Chinese apart, one can enjoy a wide range of Japanese or even Thai cuisine. The signature preparation is Braised King Prawns with plum sauce. Start with the seafood as you embark of this journey...the Garlic Prawn Tail or the Seafood Tempura or if seafood does not catch your fancy, the Honey Chicken leaves its sweet and tangy mark on your palate. Vegans go crisp, the crispy Vegetable Salt n Pepper, the Vegetable Froied Wantons or the Gold coin, treasures galore. For the liquid diet...meant the soups of course try the Thai Tom Yum Soup or the Chinese Chicken Wontan Soup (those miniature dumplings give zest to the bland taste). For mains go behind the Dragon...order the Dragon Tail (chunks of lobster prepared in garlic sauce before being stuffed in the shell) or the Crispy fried snapper with your choice of sauce (oyster, black bean, sesame, hot garlic). You see the Mandarin nodding in front of your eyes....order the Pomfret Mandarin (the whole pomfret fried and served in a mushroom and Chinese wine sauce). Other favourites are Chicken in black bean sauce, Crunchy Pork Spare Ribs or the BBB (black curd, black mushroom, bamboo shoot). The accompaniments of fried rice or noodles complete the meal. The desserts are tried and tested, toffee (banana, apple, pineapple), and Date Panacke. The experience is like a date difficult to emulate, the whispers of the feast still linger as you bid adeui.
