Zoom up to Juhu Residency Hotel's fourth floor to their dedicated multi-cuisine seafood restaurant (no chicken, meat or veggies) on weekends and you may just find a Bollywood regular or two milling about. From Rakesh Roshan to Jeetendra and Ranbir Kapoor to Rishi Kapoor, they come to taste Chef Fernandes' South coastal culinary magic (he selects the seafood himself) on everything from clam and squid to the largest of lobsters and prawns. Sublime Singapore-style fish with bold garlicky and red chilli paste overtones is served with exotic stir-fried crunchy veggies. Ask for the Tandoori Lobster, its sweet flesh made delightful with basil and garlic. Eat it with (my favourite) Fragrant Rice steamed with Bamboo Shoot and Shiitake Mushroom. Also recommended are the North-West Frontier-style Chargrilled Fish and Appam with Tiger Prawn Gassi. The Coastal Fish, pan-fried in green chilli paste was a bit overdone, but otherwise both quality of the seafood and its preparation was memorable. Vegetarians can make a request for Paneer Shikanje, Mushroom Galouti, Chilli Basil Mushroom and the Cheese Sabz Seekh. And whatever you do, please ask for the home-style Apple Pie and Custard to end your meal. All in all, a pleasantly appointed restaurant with a seafood display fridge, etc.

Book a table in advance but get rolled over by a manager who is a sicko.

The attitude of the manager was appaling. I had booked a table, confirmed it once again ( with Mr. Mangesh). I reached the place, approved the table and was waiting for my guests. At the last moment, after I took my guests to the table, The stupid manager came and said that the table was unavailable. He was perhaps a spineless ineffectual manager succumbing to the desires of some hi-fi or politically connected family that then dined on that table. Sicko.
