Enjoy delicious South Indian food at Vaishali at dirt-cheap prices. But you will have to brave the crowd and the waiting. Mornings are full of people enjoying a plate of piping-hot Upma and a hot cup of coffee, while reading the day's news. Afternoons see mostly office-goers, shoppers and students who devour crispy dosas (Masala, Plain), fluffy idlis and steaming vadas with sambhar. Also available are pizzas (Veg, Onion, Cheese, Onion-Capsicum) and sandwiches (Veg, Mushroom, Cheese). In the evenings, Vaishali is very crowded, with the addition of families trying hard to get a table. The place has a loyal fan following in spite of its pretty ordinary ambience.

The south Indians snack items are the best here. Vaishali Special Masala Dosa, enough for lunch. A real taste of south India and I love it!

If you are not a south Indian you can go by the other reviews for this place raving about the "authentic south indian" food. As a pukka southy, this place sucks! the service is average, food is very average - only in pune do you get sweet sambar. The chutneys are horrible. The crowd and the waiting for this kind of boring food makes the whole experience even more horrible. I dont know about throw-away prices either - it was reasonably priced yes, but nowhere close to throw away. I have gone there maybe 4-5 times, everytime hoping my previous experience was a one off but nope! i am never stepping in there again.

This place noisy crowded , you have to wait for long time.
This place serves great south indian food , sambar served here is one of the best in pune. try SPDP ( shev potato dhahi puri) these are amazing ,the taste is divine.
